Italian yachtbuilder Riva is celebrating its 180th anniversary with a limited edition 10.07 metre Anniversario model which will make its debut at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival.
Only 18 units of the Riva Anniversario will be produced. The new yacht borrows design elements from two of Riva’s most iconic models – the Aquarama and the Aquariva, which are both celebrating their 60 and 20 year birthdays respectively.
It comes after the yacht was officially unveiled during a premiere of Riva’s short film Riva! The Persuaders in Venice.
The Anniversario features both interior and exterior design from Officina Italiana Design. It has “magnetic appeal”, according to the yard, with features including a small seating area, large sunpad on the aft and a protected helm station forward.
The Anniversario will serve as a commemorative nod to the boats which Riva is most famous for. Speaking to CBS news, Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi compared wooden Rivas to Cadillacs and said the appeal came from “that evocative feeling of the sixties, and the glamour attached”.
