When life will finally return to a new normal, borders will open again and we will all be able to travel again, we will surely value things that used to be normal for us a year ago a lot more – moments, people and experiences. But with all the joy of travelling, meeting and entertaining with friends and family again, we will still need our very own privacy – maybe even more than we did before. So, this month’s article is about different concepts of togetherness – in a very private way.
We’re all looking forward to meeting with people again that are dear to us. Having dinner with friends, loved ones or even business partners in a super private way is at Lithoinon Private 16, south of Athens. The very unique restaurant with only 16 seats (hence the name) in a converted garage is one of the most intimate and amazing dining experiences ever – and a well kept secret so far. Ioannis and his team take you on a culinary journey including one of the most extensive wine collections I have ever seen. Ioannis’ passion for food, fine wines, spirits and cigars comes through in every second you spend in this fine little restaurant! Every detail of the interior has been designed with love and no expense has been spared, from the walk-in humidor, the amazing wine cellar to the sound system, wine glasses and cutlery. Everything has been chosen with love and great passion. And to top it all off, Ioannis is the epitome of Greek hospitality. This little gem is definitely worth a visit. But psssst… don’t tell anyone.
Mary Katrantzou, the Greek-born, London-based designer, burst onto the scene in 2008 with prints that were, as Vogue put it, “almost beyond imaginable limits.”
The designer’s latest collaboration with Bulgari called “Serpenti Through the Eyes of Mary Katrantzou” interprets Bulgari’s Serpenti in her own way – by highlighting the importance of its symbolism, which dates back to Ancient Roman and Greek mythology. Mary was drawn to the idea of Metamorphosis: adapting, to continue evolving and growing. Serpenti is a symbol of transformation, healing and rebirth. Furthermore, the collection supports the work of the Naked Heart Foundation, founded by Russian supermodel Natalia Vodanova in 2004, who is also the face of the collection. If you want to snag one of her unique pieces – go ahead, you’ll be doing good and you’ll support togetherness.
A Gin Tonic, Martini, Negroni or even a glass of champagne always tastes better in company. So, a nice bar for hanging out with your friends on your next yacht charter might be a good option to consider. Here are some tempting examples to spark your imagination.
A special jewel especially for the pre-yachting season in spring is Costa Navarino resort on Peloponnese. It prides itself to be the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean.
Costa Navarino consists of a number of distinct mixed-use resorts, integrating deluxe hotels, signature golf courses, world-class spas, state-of-the art resort facilities and high-end private residences. Upon completion Costa Navarino will comprise 5 sites, extending over 1,000 hectares in total.
Check into one of Navarino Dunes 5star hotels – The Westin Resort or The Romanos, get yourself pampered at Anzoe Spa and unwind at Barbouni beach restaurant with a mesmerizing canopy created of fabric sheets that sway in the wind, resembling waves at the beach and creating a soothing atmosphere. Once you start relaxing you don’t want to leave again. Finally revived, a round of Golf at either the Dunes or the Bay course with amazing views of the azur blue sea or exploring the surrounding area with its historical sights are always good ideas.
An ultra-luxury hotel is currently under construction at Navarino Bay. Once it opens its doors, guests will stay in pool villas, enjoy a prime spa and exclusive beach club. And if you should feel like not leaving at all, you may find yourself a private residence on site.
Dunes is also the name of German designer Sebastian Herkner’s outdoor collection for Gloster. A bohemian influence defines the style and the name expresses the feeling of spontaneity like the shifting of sand dunes.
Focusing on the group, the conversations, the sense of togetherness is the philosophy of outdoor sofa Mbarq for Dedon. Embarking with friends for another journey. This concludes the perfect end to this month’s article, because – and I think you’ll agree – togetherness is what we’re all looking forward to again very much these days.
May we all celebrate togetherness in our own personal way of privacy soon again.
Preferably on a yacht.
